Omer Kula was born in Izmir, Turkey, in 1984. His childhood was typical, but his interest in cinema began at the age of 10. That year, his parents took him to the cinema to watch Seven and it transformed his life. By the time he was 15, he was skipping classes to go to the movies, a period when he started dreaming about making films of his own.
He studied Advertising and Public Relations at university for various reasons. During his final year, he took a few film classes and realized with certainty that filmmaking was his true calling. There was no other path for him. After graduating, he applied to several universities to pursue an MA in Filmmaking and moved to London in 2008. He completed his degree at Kingston University in 2010 and began working as a freelance filmmaker.
Omer has already directed several short films and is currently writing his first feature film. Although he identifies first and foremost as a director, his passion for cinema drives him to explore every aspect of the craft. To this end, he has been honing his skills as an editor, camera operator, and even an actor. He contributes to all areas of production and has worked on major projects, including TV commercials, as part of large professional crews.
